Shenai rass saree depicts the divine dance of Radha and Krishna kan as raasleela or rasa dance. This theme was one of the upular lyrical compositions sung in praise of Radha and Krishna from Gita Govindam in embroidery as well as miniature paintings. It magnificently portrays the dance of Krishna where he assumes multiple forms and held the hands of Radha and each gopi to form a circle. This theme is noted for its circular symmetry of figures around the center mandala (circle in form of lotus flower with or without the figure of deity in it), patterns and ornamentation in the costumes of figures, use of variegated colours in the dresses and poses of Krishna. The dance is enlivened by music given by shenai players surrounding the raas dance.
