Pahari Embroidered Cholies

Sharing more on pahari costumes seen in ancient sculptures of early centuries, similar patterned costumes are depicted in in chamba rumals and miniature paintings and their resemblance with some surviving field specimens!!

Possibly these patterns have been created using embroidery or tinsel printing or any other techniques as well!!

More research interventions are needed to unexplore these vibrant red indigo surface ornamented costumes from pahari region!!

We are glad to share that we have been able to identify embroidery technique, stitches and designs of this exquisite embroidery and have been giving training for it's revival!!
